Physarum tenerum
Overview
Sporocarps gregarious, stipitate, total height 1-3 mm. Sporothecae globose, erect or nodding, 0.3-0.4 mm diam. Peridium single, membranous but thickly studded with circular, flattened, yellow, greenish yellow, ochraceous grey or nearly white flakes of lime. Dehiscence into petalloid lobes. Stalk 0.7-2.5 mm long, subulate, slender, calcareous, opaque, pale yellow above, often shading to darker below. Columella absent, but the base of the peridium often thickened forming an apical disc on the stalk. Capillitium delicate, the nodes yellow, small, rounded, connected by hyaline threads, many of the junctions often limeless. Spore-mass black. Spores violaceous, minutely verruculose, 8-11 µm diam. Plasmodium yellow or yellowish green.
