Overview
Sporocarps sessile on a constricted base or less commonly short-stalked, rarely subplasmodiocarpous, 0.5-2.2 mm diam., orange-brown to dull brown, sometimes rosaceous. Peridium thin, transparent, iridescent, bearing on its inner surface the persistent ends of the capillitial threads. Capillitium consisting of numerous yellow-brown, ± spirally banded threads which appear solid, originating at the base and becoming subdivided outwards, the branches often spirally interwoven, sometimes anastomosed to form a network at the bases and tips, many of the extremities attached to the upper wall, the spirals occasionally lacking and capillitium often irregular. Spore-mass orange-brown to brown. Spores yellow, spinose, 10-13(-15) µm diam. Plasmodium white.
