TRIAENODON

WHITETIP SHARKS

Body fairly slender; head broad, blunt and flattened; eyes small; teeth with one large and two small points; five gill slits, last 1-2 over pectoral; first dorsal origin nearer pelvics than pectoral; second dorsal large, but smaller than first, origin ~over origin of equal-sized anal; pectoral large, triangular; pit on top of base of asymmetric tail.

This genus contains a single tropical species which occurs in the Indo-Pacific and Red sea.
