© Copyright Richard Herrmann, 2006 · -3 Zalembius rosaceus Click on map for details about points. 1 thumbnail  •  slide show Kinds Zalembius rosaceus, Pink Seaperch español Overview Main identification features oval; head small, pointed pink + 2 black spots tail fin forked, top point longer a: margin s shaped ZALEMBIUS SURFPERCHES Body moderately elongate, rather deep; dorsal and ventral profiles gently convex; tail base short, narrow and tapering; head small (<37% of standard length); mouth at front, jaws equal, usually not reaching to eye level; snout bluntly conical; rear nostril an ellipse at oblique angle to body axis; eye horizontal, slightly oval; dorsal fin base long, with scaly sheath at base of soft part, without notch; anal base short, 3rd spine longest, rear rays long in male, fin margin S shaped; tail forked, upper rays longest.
